Lira, Uganda – Hope, healing and transformation are on the horizon as the Great Miracle Crusade, themed “Lira for Jesus,” prepares to light up the Lango Sub-Region.
From January 17 to 19, 2025, thousands are expected to gather at the Lira Mayor’s Garden for three days of life-changing encounters with God.
This monumental event, spearheaded by Bishop Patrick Benjamin Mabala of Beloved Churches in Uganda, promises a dynamic mix of spiritual revival, community empowerment and celebration.
“Our vision is to see lives transformed-spiritually, socially, and economically,” Bishop Mabala shared. “This crusade is a call for unity and revival in Lira, bringing together all denominations to proclaim that Jesus is Lord over this region.”
With a mass choir, interdenominational worship, and a powerful lineup of speakers, the event aims to foster unity among churches while addressing pressing social challenges like broken families and substance abuse.
The highlight of the crusade is the arrival of Pastor Jin Sung-Won from South Korea, a renowned global evangelist known for his inspiring messages and powerful healing ministry.
His presence underscores the international significance of this event, which will draw participants from across Uganda and beyond, including South Korea, the United States and neighboring African nations.
The Great Miracle Healing Crusade goes beyond preaching, with a focus on community upliftment.
A grand raffle will be held, offering life-changing prizes such as a motorcycle, bicycles, mattresses and smartphones to help improve the lives of local families.
“We want this crusade to touch every aspect of life,” Bishop Mabala said. “These gifts symbolize God’s care for our physical needs, alongside spiritual nourishment.”
The event will kick off on January 16 with a thrilling football match at the former Akii Bua Grounds. Additionally, the City Jesus March will unite believers in a joyous public declaration of faith, culminating in the main event.
The theme “Lira for Jesus” reflects a bold vision for the region’s future.
Bishop Mabala hopes the crusade will inspire a wave of renewal, bringing families closer, strengthening communities, and pointing individuals toward a purposeful life in Christ.
Bishop Dr. David Godfrey Okello, Deputy Regional Overseer for the National Fellowship of Born Again Churches in Lango, emphasized the crusade’s significance: “This is more than an event-it’s a movement. Let’s seize this opportunity to change lives and glorify God.”
