Lira, Uganda | Police in Lira District have arrested a 41-year-old man over the alleged murder of his younger brother following a land dispute in Amach Sub-county.
The incident occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2026, at around 4:00pm in Alworo Central Village, Alworo Parish.
According to police, the deceased, Mr Ebong Silvano, 35, a peasant farmer, reportedly quarreled with his elder brother, Mr Okot Denish, over land.
Preliminary findings indicate that during the altercation, the suspect allegedly struck the deceased on the head with a dry palm tree branch, inflicting a deep cut that caused excessive bleeding.
