Kampala, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Mr. Arthur Mugyenyi as the new Director General of the Internal Security Organization (ISO), the Presidential Press Unit (PPU) announced today.
The move comes after the passing of Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka, who led the agency until his death on January 29, 2025.
Mugyenyi steps into the role at a crucial time, with the ISO playing a key part in keeping Uganda safe from internal threats.
The PPU also shared that Mr. Tony Kinyera Apacu has been named the new Deputy Director General, taking over from Col. Emma Katabazi.
Katabazi, who served as deputy until now, has been reassigned to the position of Deputy Ambassador.
The changes are part of President Museveni’s efforts to ensure strong leadership in the country’s security sector.
Mugyenyi and Apacu are expected to work together to tackle ongoing challenges and maintain stability across Uganda.
