Ngila Acel Clan Chief Urges Members to Embrace Education, Honesty and Unity

Lira, Uganda | Francis Xavier Abaca, the Awitong (Clan Chief) of Ngila Acel clan, has urged members to uphold truth, respect, and unity while avoiding lies and practices that could tarnish the clan’s reputation.

Abaca encouraged parents to send their children to school and advised community members to refrain from land disputes, emphasizing that educating the younger generation is key to the clan’s long-term development. He also called on farmers not to let setbacks in agriculture discourage them but to view challenges as opportunities to find solutions and improve their livelihoods.

Speaking on Friday at Silver Peak Hotel in Lira City during the swearing-in ceremony of key clan leaders, Abaca advised leaders to make decisions after considering the collective opinion of clan members and to always lead responsibly.

Oketch Tomson, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ngila Acel clan, urged the newly sworn-in officials to stick to the norms and fulfill the responsibilities assigned to them. He stressed the importance of transparency in resolving disputes and warned that leaders who neglect their duties could hinder the clan’s progress.

Key positions and officials sworn in during the ceremony included Abaca Vincent as Speaker, Ocen Ocen as Deputy Speaker, Ongom Peter Sedu as Deputy Clan Chief, Abaca Fort Fred as 1st Deputy Prime Minister, Obong Nelson as Deputy Electoral Commission Chairperson, and Okello Tonny Trump as Publicity Secretary.

The ceremony was a milestone in strengthening leadership, promoting unity, and fostering development within the Ngila Acel clan.
