Kampala, Uganda – The Office of the President has announced a National District Leaders Retreat to review the progress of the NRM Manifesto 2021-2026 and the 23 Presidential Strategic Guidelines and Directives.
The retreat will take place from March 16th to 21st, 2025, at the National Leadership Institute (NALI), Kyankwanzi.
According to a letter signed by Hajji Yunus Kakande, Secretary in the Office of the President, the retreat will bring together Deputy Resident District Commissioners (DRDCs/DRCCs) and NRM District Chairpersons from the Northern, Eastern, Central and Western regions.
The goal is to assess the implementation of government commitments and ensure that key development programs are on track.
The retreat, organized by the Manifesto Implementation Unit, will feature presentations from government ministries, departments and agencies on the status of manifesto implementation.
Leaders will review achievements, identify challenges and discuss solutions to improve service delivery.
The meeting comes at a crucial time as Uganda approaches the 2026 general elections.
It will serve as an opportunity for district leaders to align their efforts with national priorities and strengthen the implementation of government programs.
The Office of the President has advised all invited leaders to attend in person.
This retreat is expected to reinforce the NRM’s commitment to delivering on its promises and ensuring effective governance across the country.
