Oyam, Uganda | Police in Oyam District have acquired a new patrol vehicle in a move expected to enhance crime response and improve service delivery.

The vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser registration number UP 00338, was delivered on Friday to support policing activities across the district.

North Kyoga Regional Police Public Relations Officer, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, said the addition is aimed at improving mobility for officers, enabling quicker response to incidents and better coordination of operations, especially in remote areas.

He said the support reflects the commitment of the Inspector General of Police and the force’s strategic leadership to equip field units with resources necessary for effective policing.

Okema also acknowledged the role of the North Kyoga Regional Police Commander in providing guidance and operational support to officers in the region.

He urged the District Police Commander (DPC) and his team in Oyam to ensure proper management of the vehicle, emphasising that it should be used strictly for official duties.

Police believe the new patrol vehicle will strengthen crime prevention efforts and enhance public safety through improved response and visibility.
