RDC Okello Odoki Rwot Lonyo Unites Amolatar District NRM: Harnessing Unity for a Brighter Tomorrow.

AMOLATAR:

31/05/2024 – In a bid to foster unity and clarity among National Resistance Movement (NRM) party members, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Amolatar District, Okello Francis Odoki Rwot Lonyo, convened a meeting with NRM chairpersons from the village to district level on May 31st, 2024, at Amolatar SS, Amolatar Town Council.

The meeting, which was attended by dignitaries including Region Coordinator NRM Party Northern Uganda, Langol Prossy, Fisheries Officers of Amolatar District, and Woman Member of Parliament (WMP) Agnes Atim Apea of Amolatar District, aimed to outline the duties of NRM party members and promote a shared understanding of the party’s goals and objectives.

In his address, RDC Okello emphasized the need for unity among party members, citing the proverb “when two elephants fight, the grass suffers.” He urged party leaders to put aside their differences and work towards a common purpose, stressing that unity is crucial for the party’s success.

“The purpose of this meeting is to bring out the duties of NRM and to unite people to come together and chase a common goal,” RDC Okello said. “If we are united, we can achieve a lot, but if we are divided, we will achieve nothing.”

The meeting was seen as a significant step towards addressing the party’s internal differences and promoting a cohesive approach to governance. Party leaders and officials in attendance welcomed the initiative, pledging to work together towards the party’s objectives.

The meeting also provided a platform for party members to interact with government officials and address issues affecting the district. Fisheries Officers and WMP Agnes Atim Apea took the opportunity to brief party members on government programs and initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of district residents.

The meeting was a significant gathering of district NRM officials after a long time, and party leaders expressed gratitude to RDC Okello for convening the meeting.

As the NRM party continues to play a dominant role in Uganda’s political landscape, initiatives like this meeting are crucial in promoting unity, understanding, and effective governance. In a press statement issued after the meeting, WMP Agnes Atim Apea praised RDC Okello for his leadership and vision, saying: “Today’s meeting was a testament to the power of unity and cooperation. The meeting was also attended by other local government officials, including the District Chairman, Councilors, and Sub-county Chiefs, who all pledged their support for the NRM party and its initiatives.
