Mukono, Uganda – Mukono police have arrested five suspects in connection with the brutal murder of Oloya Ivan, a 30-year-old teacher at Seeta High School, Mbalala Campus.

The incident occurred on March 22, 2025, in Bajjo Cell, Nyenje Ward, Goma Division.
According to reports, Oloya Ivan was heading home from work when he was attacked near the gate of Code High School, where his wife, Abbey Mercy, teaches.
The assailants allegedly ambushed him, inflicting fatal injuries before fleeing the scene.
Mukono police swiftly responded to the crime scene and introduced a canine unit, which successfully led officers to the suspects’ hideout.
The arrested individuals include: Kasumba Paul (21)- casual worker, Mabale Simon (23)- casual worker, Kibuuka Tom (38)- mechanic, Lukodda Simon (18)- casual worker and Kandoole Charles Dani (16)- casual worker.
Oloya’s body was transported to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem examination as investigations continue to establish the motive behind the killing.
Authorities are also working to determine whether the suspects were part of a larger criminal network operating in the area.
The murder has sent shockwaves through Bajjo Cell and the education community, raising concerns over the safety of teachers and residents in Mukono.
Many are calling for heightened security measures, especially near schools and residential areas.
Mukono police have assured the public that all leads will be pursued to ensure justice for Oloya Ivan and his grieving family.
