Kole, Uganda | Wisdom High School in Kole District has registered impressive performance in the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results, further strengthening its position among the top-performing schools in Northern Uganda.

The Executive Director of the school, Ambrose Ogwal, expressed excitement while addressing the media following the release of the results on Friday.

Ogwal revealed that eight candidates from the school scored the maximum 20 points in the 2025 examinations, six of whom were from science combinations.

He added that the school also produced 16 candidates with 19 points, 21 with 18 points, 29 with 17 points, 51 with 16 points, and 55 with 15 points.

A total of 438 candidates from Wisdom High School sat for the examinations, making it one of the schools in the Lango subregion with the highest number of candidates.

Ogwal noted that the school’s performance has been steadily improving over the years. In 2023, Wisdom High School was the only school across the Northern and West Nile subregions to produce a candidate who scored 20 points. In 2024, the number rose to six candidates scoring the maximum points, making the school the best performer in Northern Uganda that year.

He said the latest results reflect the school’s strong emphasis on science education, which aligns with Uganda’s vision of becoming a science-led nation.

Ogwal attributed the strong performance to the dedication and hard work of the students, support from parents, and the commitment of teachers.

He also highlighted the role of ICT integration in learning, a well-stocked library, and a fully equipped and spacious science laboratory, which he described as the biggest in Northern Uganda.

Ogwal further pointed to the school’s organised administrative structure and competent staff who are well versed with the new curriculum as key factors behind the success.

He said his vision is to transform Wisdom High School into a centre of academic excellence serving Northern, Eastern, West Nile, and Western regions of Uganda.

Meanwhile, the school has embarked on the construction of a 10,000-seater Wisdom Stadium, with ground levelling currently underway. The project is expected to be completed within the next five years.

The 2025 UACE results were officially released by the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni, earlier today at State House Nakasero.

Nationally, a total of 166,400 candidates registered for the examinations, representing a 17.2% increase from the 141,996 candidates who sat the exams in 2024. Of these, 98.9% qualified for the UACE certificate, while 113,291 candidates met the minimum requirement of two principal passes required for university admission.

Overall performance improved compared to the previous year, with notable improvements recorded in subjects such as Mathematics, Chemistry, Agriculture, Geography, Economics, Biology and Literature in English.

However, results for 351 candidates from 47 centres were withheld due to suspected examination malpractice.
