Amolatar, Uganda – The LCV Chairperson of Amolatar District, Geoffrey Ocen Kiring, has assured the public of a fair and transparent recruitment process as the District Service Commission (DSC) released the names of shortlisted candidates for oral interviews on Monday, 27th January 2025.
The interviews, slated for 10th to 19th February 2025, and others slated for a later date, are part of the district’s effort to fill critical administrative, technical, educational roles, among others.
Speaking on the matter, Kiring emphasized the district’s commitment to selecting candidates based solely on merit, urging applicants to prepare thoroughly for the interviews.
“We have put a good team in the commission to identify and select the right candidates for the right jobs. Just prepare to excel during the interview,” he said.
In a strong stance against corruption, Kiring assured residents that the recruitment process would remain free of bribery and favoritism.
“If anyone hears of someone asking for money, report it immediately. Amolatar District didn’t advertise jobs for sale. The DSC is under obligation to identify and select the best candidates who can help us deliver for the people of Amolatar,” he added.
The shortlisting exercise, conducted from 21st to 23rd January 2025, reviewed applications submitted following the district’s job advertisement on New Vision news paper on Friday 25th October 2024.
Key positions include Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, Medical Laboratory Assistants, District Internal Auditor, Principal Assistant Secretary, and others.
The announcement of the shortlist has sparked mixed reactions from residents, reflecting both optimism and skepticism.
Okao Moses, a concerned resident, raised concerns over potential favoritism. “The shortlist is out, and that’s good, but the recruitment team should avoid asking additional questions like ‘Who sent you?’ This process should be free from daytime robbery and ensure only competent candidates are selected,” he said.
Another resident, Duncan, also known as Mr. Ideology, expressed confidence in Chairperson Kiring’s leadership. “This kind of malpractice cannot happen under Kiring’s regime. We trust his leadership to deliver a fair and transparent process,” he stated.
Kiring’s firm stance against corruption and his call for vigilance among residents have been widely lauded.
By urging the public to report any unethical behavior, he has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency and fairness.
The shortlisted applicants are expected to receive official communication on their specific interview dates and requirements.
