The Bishop of Lango Diocese Prof. Alfred Olwa made the remarks in Opila Cell – Boke Ward, Lira City East Division at send-off of Mzee Christopher Okello Opio alias “Onger Pe Camo Akeo” that took place today.
Bishop Olwa made his surmon from the book of 2 Corinthians 5:1-10. He cautioned mourners to always be aware that there’s life after death. He further stated that people now days are focused on doing prestigious things but they should also put strong faith in Christ Jesus, in order to unite and bring peace among people in this world.

Olwa stated that there’re alot of families where people base on their wisdom and knowledge but at the end if death occurs, they start struggling for the deceased property. He further warned people against such act.
Bishop Olwa showed his grievance in circumstances where an elder from a family dies and people start struggling for land to sell amongst themselves. He urged the people of Lango to cease this kind of act because it intern leads to high level of poverty in the future.
The late Mzee Christopher Okello Opio died at the age of 101 years and also served as a Sub-county Chief and he’s renowned for being a stonch supporter of the Uganda People’s Congress[UPC] party.
