Kole, Uganda – Wisdom High School Akalo reaffirmed its position as a powerhouse of academic excellence during a grand Thanksgiving ceremony held on Saturday March 22, 2025.
The school, which emerged as the best-performing institution in Lango sub-region and 23rd nationwide, celebrated a 100% pass rate in UCE and an impressive UACE performance that saw multiple students attain top scores.
In the 2024 UACE exams, Wisdom High School produced: 6 students with a maximum of 20 points, 7 students with 19 points, 15 students with 18 points, 14 students with 17 points, 33 students with 16 points, 24 students with 15 points, 35 students with 14 points.
This achievement solidifies Wisdom High School’s reputation as a leading academic institution in Northern Uganda.
The school’s director, Mr. Ambrose Ogwal attributed the success to strategic planning, quality teaching, and strong leadership.
He commended his wife, Mrs. Linda Ogwal, for her role in managing the school’s finances, ensuring stability and growth.
The director also recognized Mzee Augustine for his generous sale of nine acres of land, which has been instrumental in the school’s expansion.
Eng. Amot Franco, a key technical advisor, and Stanbic Bank were also appreciated for their continuous support.
Deputy Headteacher Mr. Michael Aden emphasized that the school’s academic strategies, including intensive coaching, strict discipline, and a balanced focus on arts and sciences, contributed to this success.
Headteacher Mr. Bongo Daniel noted that Wisdom High School thrives under solid leadership, with Mr. Ogwal, as a seasoned teacher and author of Modern Approach to European History, a widely used history textbook, and Mrs. Ogwal as a lecturer at Lira University.
To motivate high achievers, the school awarded cash prizes:
Students with 20 points received UGX 500,000 each, including:

3. Okuta Jalam Benzamine (HLD/ICT)
4. Akello Loyce (HEL/ICT)
5. Owidi Leone Forward (HEL/ICT)
6. Obia Oscar Prince (BCM/ICT)
Students with 19 points received UGX 200,000, among them:
1. Apio Sarah (HEL/ICT)
2. Acili Sheila Lorna (HEL/ICT)
3. Ebil Maritah Eve (HLL/ICT)
4. Angom Mercy (LED/ICT)
5. Atwoko Jamaine (HLD/ICT)
6. Ogwal Helly (HLG/ICT)
Teachers were also rewarded based on their students’ performance, a move aimed at maintaining motivation and sustaining excellence.
The PTA Chairperson Walter Awany Otwii urged the school administration to sustain its high academic standards.
He highlighted the key attributes of an outstanding teacher, including effective communication, creativity, perseverance, and physical fitness.
