Kikuube, Uganda – On July 18, 2024, the tranquil district of Kikuube in western Uganda was struck by a devastating road accident, which has since claimed the lives of nine individuals and left several others injured.
The fatal crash, involving a police pickup truck carrying 14 passengers, occurred along the Kabaale-Kiziranfumbi-Hohwa Road in the neighboring Hoima District at approximately 3 p.m.
As the vehicle, bearing registration number UP 9799, veered off the road and lost control, the resulting collision claimed its first victims on the scene.
The identities of those who tragically lost their lives have since been released, as the death toll continues to rise with some of the injured succumbing to their injuries while receiving treatment at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital.
The Kikuube community, still grappling with the shock and grief inflicted by this tragic event, has come together to mourn the victims and offer support to the affected families.
