Lira City, Uganda – 94.3 Q FM, a leading radio station in Uganda, celebrated its 12th anniversary in style on July 6, 2024, at the Lira Town College Playground. The event was marked by a grand prize giveaway, cultural performances, and attendance by distinguished guests and community leaders.
Alfred Odongo, a fisherman from Abuli-abula village in Ayabi Sub County, Kwania district, emerged as the lucky winner of an 8-seater Toyota Noah. Odongo, who had participated in the Lak Alid Radio Game just ten times, was overwhelmed with joy as he received the keys to his new vehicle.
The event featured vibrant cultural performances by prominent Lango artists, including Okeng Born Town, Gye Slence Igwe, Lil Square, Wot Ayin, and Sister Nancy. Their performances showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Lango region and added a lively atmosphere to the event.
The celebration was graced by notable figures, including Willy Omodo Omodo (Won Tok), Speaker of Lango Cultural Institution; Dr. Eng. Moses Michael Odongo Okune (Won Nyaci Elect); Lawrence Egole (Resident City Commissioner, Lira City); Hon. George Okello Ayo (Mayor, Lira City East); Hon. Peter Obong Ocuda (Speaker, Apac District Local Council); Kirimunda Saidi (Chairman, Greater Lango Muslim); and Hamza Okello (Principal Private Secretary to Won Nyaci Elect).

In addition to the grand prize, QFM awarded 1 million UGX each to five lucky winners, spreading joy and excitement among the attendees. These substantial prizes underscored QFM’s dedication to its audience and community.
