Jinja, Uganda – Gaddafi FC has officially parted ways with head coach Allan Kabonge following a series of disappointing performances in the FUFA Big League.
This decision comes just ahead of their crucial match against Calvary FC in Yumbe, West Nile, scheduled for Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Currently positioned second in the Big League table, Gaddafi FC has struggled to find their footing, failing to secure a victory in their last four matches.
The team has recorded two losses and two draws, with their most recent outing resulting in a 1-1 draw against Kiyinda Boys on March 13, just before the international break.
This lackluster performance has reportedly discontented the club’s management.
With 31 points from 17 games, Gaddafi FC trails behind Buhimba United Saints, who lead the league with 35 points.
Kabonge was given a one-year contract by the Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation, tasked with the challenge of guiding Gaddafi FC back to the Uganda Premier League (UPL).
Unfortunately, the team’s inability to capitalize on their potential under his leadership led to this decisive move.
In the wake of Kabonge’s exit, reports indicate that Robert Mukasa is set to take over as the new head coach.
Mukasa’s appointment comes at a critical time as Gaddafi FC seeks to revive their season and maintain their pursuit of promotion to the UPL.
Allan Kabonge is known for his success in guiding multiple teams to the UPL, including Paidha Black Angels, Onduparaka FC, and Masavu FC.
He has also made his mark in the Masaza Cup tournament, coached teams such as Lira United, Impala Hills, Katwe United, among others.
