Kwania, Uganda – The media fraternity today gathered to pay tribute to the late Ambrose Opodo, a respected media personalityand dedicated servant of the church.
Friends, family, and colleagues convened at Agwiciri in Kwania District to honor Opodo’s life and contributions to both media and the community.
Rev. Father Emmanuel Opio praised Opodo’s tireless work ethic and peaceful demeanor, noting his ability to forge connections with everyone he met.
Drawing inspiration from the gospel, Father Opio encouraged mourners to embrace Christ’s teachings on living peacefully with others and fostering harmony in all aspects of life.
Dr. Hillary Okello provided insight into the cause of Opodo’s untimely passing, attributing his death to complications from a previous battle with tuberculosis.
The congregation was reminded of the fragility of life and urged to prioritize peace promotion activities in Opodo’s memory.
Throughout his career, Ambrose Opodo made significant contributions to media houses in the region.
Having studied at Agwiciri Primary School, Ngai Secondary School, and Ave Maria Technical School, he went on to teach before pursuing a successful media career.
Opodo worked for several prominent radio stations, including Hot FM Amolatar, Dokolo FM, Radio Lira, Q FM, and Radio Wa.
As a final tribute, media personalities, led by the Secretary of the Lango Radio Owners and Managers Association (LAROMA) Boniface Otim Ogwal, planted trees to commemorate their fallen colleague.
These living memorials symbolize the enduring impact of Ambrose Opodo’s life and work, ensuring his legacy continues to inspire generations of media personalities and peacemakers.
