Palilisa, Uganda | Hon Derrick Orone, the member of parliament for Gogonyo county in Pallisa district who doubles as the NRM district chairperson took his oath on Friday afternoon for the second term in Pallisa.
Immediately after taking oath, Hon.Orobe and his dear wife Shifrah Orone Mugabi, with his campaign manager Mr.Osakan Samson held a brief press conference
Orone said in his first term in parliament he pledged a number of programs, but God helped him to achieve 90%.
“My scorecard rose up because I managed to fulfill most of my requests by the time I joined parliament Gogonyo county had only two senior secondary schools Apopong Seed SS and Gogonyo SS and the other two sub counties of Obutet and Kaukura did not have but I lobbied government is constructing. I give my applause to the minister of education and sports Mama Janet Kataha Museveni and Ogwang Peter, the state minister, for sports for the support. In heath, I did a number of campaigns like lobbying for mama kits, a government ambulance,” Orone said.
Orone said his involvement in church construction ,opening SACCOs for women, youth, and bodabodas eased his campaign.
” The area that I didn’t do well was improvement of PLE performance which was highly affected by shortage of teachers but given the little addition of the wage bill I am certain Gogonyo will get teachers and I will help in the provision of assessment test items”,Orone said.
He added that in this term his he wants to ensure Gogonyo health centre III in elevated to health centre IV as per the policy.
Osakan, his campaign manager, said that Orone, being in a youth bracket, knew the needs of this age, and when he had a number of national artists once in z while organised sports, he simplified my campaign.
“Being a district party chairperson also gave Orone weight, and I would like to thank the delegates xho convened in Pallisa SS and mandated Orone to be the chairperson. Orone is also blessed with an iron lady politically who knows the needs of women, hence becoming the patron of women activities in the county.
Shifrah Orone, who was overwhelmed with joy being by the side of her husband during oath taking, reminded her vows to stand by his at the time of sorrow and joy.

Emmanuel Olupot, the LC3 of Apopong sub county, said he wishes Orone to get down to the ground fortnightly to monitor government programs in Gogonyo as an overnight is onr of his toles as MP.
Orone led a team of his supporters for luncheon iat his home n Makindye as he plans to have a mega function for hid voters.
