Oyam Girls Ready To Prove The Greatness of FICH In Their Communities

Oyam, Uganda – A total of 109 adolescence young girls who were enrolled by a Charity Organisation called Foundation For Inculsive Community Help (FICH) in Oyam district are optimumly ready to apply the knowledge impacted in them during the course of Discovery boot camp training in their  actual live in their respective communities.

Passing out the girls at Acaba senior Secondary school on Saturday  07/Dec/2024 were the camp was conducted for a fortnight, Victoria Harriet Anyango  who is the programm manager for FICH education department  in Oyam District said they enrolled a total of 120 girls from three school mentioning Acaba senior secondary school, Everest High School and Atapara secondary school in the ratio of 40 girls per school.

Anyango in her deep expression explained the cause of the decrease in the girls number from 120 to 109 being school drop out, early marriage and to some extend school transfer in or out of Oyam District where FICH is not operating making a total of 11 girls missing the 2nd cohort Graduation.

 Emmy Zommlamia Okello the programm director for FICH said their mentor teachers  have done enough mentoring activities to to instill the best input in the girls so that they can give a better out put to their local communities as they spread the good news of them selves for their own benefits.

Zommlamia Okello added these girls are adequately trained in personal and cooperative leadership skills, public speaking, entrepreneurial skills, craft and creativity and financial literacy which will help them battle the live in the changing world no matter their vunarability as a weaker sex.

This was stated on prove by the testimony from the FICH Allumini president Vivian Mary Abote who graduated last year and now exercising the truth the training she under went in real live giving example in leadership and engagement in poultry business.

Gracing the event Honorable Benson Dila Oyuku the Oyam District chair person LC V thank FICH for the great work done to improve the quality of the girls in Oyam by helping them explore the dreams and bring them to actual real live.

Hon . Patrick Ogwang Obura the Parliamentary Aspirant for Oyam south in his present to witness the passing out of the girls he said to the graduands and their parents that the only protifable investment is education.

He also promoted the girls project in all the three schools by giving a token of 100,000 shillings to each and this was thankful to the school and parents.

Other opinion Leaders and education minded persons who attended the pass out includes Oyam District Education Officer Mr.David Adea, Hellen Kella the programm manager for GENEVA Global and representives of other organisations supporting FICH including World vision, PISCO, Link To Progress and Growth Care all gathered to grace the event.
