Kibale Delegates Back Echodu’s Bid for NRM Vice Chairmanship

Kibale, Uganda | David Calvin Echodu’s campaign for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda received a major boost following a strategic visit to Kibale District, where he garnered strong support from party delegates and local leaders.

Echodu, who is vying for a seat on the National Resistance Movement’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), led a high-powered delegation to the district.

He was received by a cross-section of district leaders, including the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), LC5 representatives, and NRM party officials.

The RDC lauded Echodu’s personal and professional attributes, saying he had taken time to study Echodu’s background and found him to be an educated, well-exposed, and humble individual.

He expressed confidence in Echodu’s ability to serve effectively, citing his alignment with President Yoweri Museveni’s vision and his strong commitment to community development.

Mr. Basereka, assistant to the LC5 Chairperson, also welcomed the team and pledged support on behalf of local government leadership.

However, he cautioned Echodu to remember that the position he is seeking is national in scope, and should not be approached with a narrow regional focus.

He encouraged Echodu to prioritize the entire country and not limit his efforts to Eastern Uganda.

The NRM District Chairman of Kibale emphasized that support for Echodu was a collective decision, revealing that the district leadership had already endorsed him.

He reaffirmed that although he could not make the decision alone, the unity within the team made their support unequivocal.

Ambassador Nelson Ocheger highlighted Echodu’s historical support for the NRM party, noting that he had consistently backed the party financially and ideologically since his early days.

He described Echodu as new energy for the Central Executive Committee and said it was time for him to contribute at the highest level in support of President Museveni’s broader agenda.

In his address to the delegates, Echodu assured them that he would remain accessible and committed even after assuming office.

He described himself as a man of action rather than words, emphasizing that his focus would be on tangible results rather than empty promises.

He also called for greater collaboration between grassroots mobilizers and elected leaders, stressing the importance of unity and inclusiveness.

He promised to work closely with President Museveni to empower delegates and strengthen their role within the party.

The visit concluded with a unanimous endorsement of Echodu’s bid by the delegates, who praised his leadership record, clarity of vision, and dedication to the party’s mission.

His candidacy continues to attract support as he positions himself as a formidable contender for the NRM Vice Chairmanship for Eastern Uganda.

Present at the meeting were the RDC, LC5 officials, NRM district leaders, security personnel, and other dignitaries.
