Lira, Uganda – The Northern Regional League resumes this week with Round Two action, promising intense matchups across both the Rhino and Elephant groups.
Nine fixtures have been lined up, with teams battling for supremacy and a shot at promotion to the FUFA Big League next season.
The most anticipated clash of the round is the showdown between Northern Gateway SC and Lira City Council FC on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Northern Gateway SC currently leads the table with 22 points, 4 ahead of Lira City Council FC, who is second in the league.
However, Lira City Council FC holds the psychological edge, having beaten Northern Gateway 3-1 at Lango College Playground in the first round.
With just a few matches left in the season, this encounter is crucial in determining the league’s top spot. A win for Northern Gateway SC would extend their lead and strengthen their title bid, while Lira City Council FC will aim to close the gap and keep their promotion hopes alive.
