Omoding Rotary Nominated for Dokolo South MP Race on NRM Ticket

Kampala, Uganda | The race for the Dokolo South Member of Parliament seat intensified yesterday 17th July 2025 as Omoding George Rotary was officially nominated by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission in Kampala.

The nomination ceremony, presided over by NRM Secretary General Tanga Odoi, marked a significant step in the party’s preparations for the upcoming primary elections scheduled for July 16, 2025.

Omoding’s nomination was proposed by Okeng Bernard from Acandyang Cell, Western Ward, Dokolo Town Council.

He was seconded by Agoi Dorcus from Aputaputa A village, Ageni Parish, Okwongodul Sub County, and further supported by Atim Sarah from Awidi B village, Awelo Parish, Adeknino Sub County.

After his nomination, Omoding George Rotary expressed confidence in his ability to hold the NRM flag and outlined his campaign agenda.

Atim Sarah, one of Omoding’s seconders, endorsed him for his good leadership qualities. She expressed her confidence in his ability to represent the people of Dokolo South effectively.

Omoding will face competition from other candidates, including Okoch Denise and incumbent Hon. Felix Okot Ogong, among others, in the NRM party primaries scheduled for July 16, 2025.

With his nomination, Omoding is set to embark on a campaign that focuses on key issues affecting his constituents.

Omoding pledged to support groups and youth in the constituency, recognizing their potential as drivers of growth and development.

He emphasized the importance of empowering these groups through initiatives that would enhance their skills, provide access to resources, and create opportunities for economic advancement.

One of the key areas, Omoding George plans to focus on is education. He lamented the poor performance of Dokolo South and the entire Dokolo District in this sector, attributing it to inadequate leadership and management.

To address this, he proposed initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education, ensuring that schools receive the necessary support and resources to provide students with a better learning environment.

He also points on how community are suffering due to the lack of essential drugs in hospitals, a situation that has compromised healthcare delivery.

He vowed to work tirelessly to ensure that healthcare facilities are well-stocked and equipped to provide quality medical care.

He added to raise a concern about the need to upgrade the Dokolo-Ochero-Amolatar road on this, he believes, would not only improve accessibility but also facilitate trade and commerce, ultimately boosting the local economy.

As the campaign season heats up, Omoding’s nomination marks the beginning of a new chapter in his political journey.

His vision for Dokolo South and his commitment to serving the people will be put to the test in the coming weeks.
